Students’ work experience

Two students from Capel Manor College, Scott and Theo, braved the winter chill, the wind and the rain to get some work experience at Scarletts last week. They planted a couple of sycamores in the area that will be developed into a woodland in March with the trees we’re being given by the Woodland Trust.

Theo also had the unenviable task of bailing out the pit that houses the water meter.

Scott returned this week with another student, Tia, to reduce the tree canopy that was shading the newly-planted saplings along the south boundary of the site. We’ll be planting additional trees here to support wildlife and to provide a hedge.

Here’s Tia and Scott posing for the camera after the work, during which they had been wearing full PPE as per the risk assessment and insurance cover agreement.
